Science: Making Fossils
The students started the lesson by brainstorming and discussing with each other what they thought fossils are. We made a web and listed all the characteristics of fossils.
After learning about what a fossil is, how it is formed and where it is found, the students had the chance to make their own fossils!
Arts Education: Making their own beadwork
The students had a chance to learn about the beautiful First Nations beadwork. They were engaged in the discussion and learning of using beadwork as a form of art, the importance of the use of colours, materials, and patterns, along with the products that the First Nations Cree people made. The students created their own beadwork by gluing coloured beads onto a patterned template or on a template that they created.
